
Steve Kim
President
Steve Kim has over ten years of expertise in strategic marketing, communications and business development gained from his experience within the media, entertainment, and technology sectors. A strong proponent of rich media, interactive experiences and multi-platform strategies, Steve thrives on helping organizations to integrate traditional and new media strategies that drive business results.
Prior to starting Boilingpoint, Steve was the Vice President IN CONTEXT Marketing and PR, where he was responsible for all aspects of the business operations. Before IN CONTEXT, Steve was the Director of Marketing and Business Development of Chalk Media, a leading North American mobile software and content solutions company, where he played a key role in successfully navigating the business past the dot com crash and getting the emerging new media leader listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. During this time, Steve oversaw Chalk’s re-branding strategy, implemented a national public relations program, facilitated numerous content distribution partnerships with top tier media brands such as Canada.com, Globetechnology.com, and COSTCO Canada, and major airliners such as Air Canada, Delta Air Lines and British Airways.
Steve is a Director of the BC chapter of the American Marketing Association serving as Editor of marketline Magazine, and the Co-Founder and Chair of the community non-profit, C3 Society. He holds a MA from Korea University and a BA from the University of Western Ontario.
Doug Barber
Doug Barber is an award-winning writer, director and creative entrepreneur. In his mid-twenties, he co-founded a real estate investment company that grew from a standing start to over $15million in sales in only its second year before undergoing a merger and successful public offering. Doug stayed on to head up innovative marketing programs for the newly amalgamated company which within two more years had grown to over $100 million in sales.
Since then Doug has gone on to provide venture marketing consulting for a number of new start-ups in various industries. Doug has also developed successful entertainment properties for global brands such as Disney and Electronic Arts and has written original material for movies, television and video games including the blockbuster hit Def Jam: Fight for NY that generated over $100 million in sales. Doug holds a BBA from Simon Fraser University.
Marcie MacLellan
Marcie MacLellan is an accomplished media and content strategist. Drawing on over twelve years of experience gained within the marketing industry at large, her expertise is both varied and strong.
In addition to holding senior management roles with well-recognized companies such as Ipsos-Reid, National Post, and J.C. Williams Group, Marcie is a published expert on topics related to online and traditional marketing. To date, she has published over 100 marketing related articles in various publications across Canada such as the National Post, Globe and Mail, Vancouver Province, The Office Journal, and Business Services West.
Highly active in the marketing community, Marcie founded the Vancouver Chapter of the Association of Internet Marketing and Sales (AIMS), held the role of Events Chair for the International Internet Marketing Association, was the past Editorial Director for the BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and is Vice-President of the National Board of Wired Woman. Marcie is a Journalism graduate from Ryerson Polytechnic University and holds an MA from Westminster College in London, UK.
